About the position
The five regions within Rikolto's network structure are supported by a Global Support Team. This team performs key advisory roles and provides shared services such as finance, monitoring & evaluation, people & organisation, communications and fundraising for the organisation. Within this team, we are now looking for reinforcement in the area of finance.
In this position, you will work closely with the Finance Analyst, and have many international contacts with finance colleagues in our regions.
Your role
As a future employee in the financial department of Rikolto International, you will be responsible for managing our day-to-day financial activities and providing qualitative and correct (Belgian) accounting for Rikolto International. Next to that, these tasks will be supplemented - depending on your competences, interests and availability - with tasks relating to administration or financial management.
Concretely, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Checking and processing invoices and attachments in Blue 10 (external suppliers, expense reports, Mastercard expenses)
- Booking of documents in Exact accounting
- Preparation of payments in Exact and banking applications
- Preparation and follow-up of international (intercompany) transfers within Rikolto
- Processing VAT on incoming and outgoing invoices and preparing VAT declaration
- Managing the data in Exact and the applications in Blue 10
- Reconciling payroll administration with accounting
- Managing the organisation's liquidities
- Preparing debit notes
- Preparing balance sheet, income statement, and annual accounts
- Assisting with audit processes
- Handling internal and external queries regarding supplier accounting
We will add to that ‘basic package’, depending on your competencies, interests and availability. Additional responsibilities can be
- Financial management:
- Preparation and management of budget for Rikolto International
- Review of annual regional reporting to Rikolto International
- Consolidation for Rikolto International
- Execution of year-end closing for Rikolto International
- Monitoring and optimizing financial processes, procedures, and tools
- Management of Rikolto's Strategic Investment Fund budget
- Follow up of Exact implementation with regional Finance Managers
- Administration:
- Fulfillment of legal obligations: legal entities tax, publications Belgian Official Gazette, KBO, UBO register.
- Follow up of inventory of materials
- Ordering office equipment
- Creating content on Finance topics for internal learning platform
Your profile
Qualifications, technical knowledge and experience
- You have a very good knowledge of Belgian accounting rules through an education in accountancy, or through relevant work experience
- You have experience in analytical accounting, preferably in an international context
- You have basic knowledge of VAT
Skills
- You have good computer skills, and can work fluently with Office365 and Excel, and have experience with accounting software. Experience with Exact and Isabel are a plus.
- You speak and write English well. Practical knowledge of French, Spanish or Dutch are a plus.
