The book “What will we eat tomorrow? Food Smart Cities leading the transition to sustainable food” tells stories from 9 cities in Vietnam, Belgium, Tanzania, Indonesia, Ecuador, Honduras and Nicaragua. All are pioneer cities that Rikolto is working with in taking up the immense challenge of providing their inhabitants with sustainable and affordable food, now and in the future.
What steps are they taking? Which different contexts play a part within these cities? These are questions journalists from Eos Tracé sought to answer during their visits.
Moving towards sustainable and inclusive food systems is not a linear process and it may even feel like there is no end to the obstacles along the way. The make or break factor will be our ability to learn and to adapt in complex environments. Through trial and error, today’s changemakers are paving the way for the next generation
to ensure that healthy and sustainable food is accessible to everyone, now and in the future.
